What is Viton polymer?

Viton is a Fluor elastomer brand, and our supplier for FKM rubber compounds. The terms Viton, FKM and FPM often causes confusion in the rubber (compound industry). To clarify: the FKM polymer is supplied by several polymer suppliers. One of the available brands is Viton, a well-known and registered product of the company DuPont.

Our relation with Viton

Polycomp works besides the brand Viton with other FKM polymer suppliers. Polycomp develops and produces Viton FKM rubber compounds based on all the available polymer types (A type, B type, F Type, GLT-S type and ETP type). Polycomp adds various features to these types.

Advantages of FKM rubber compounds

FKM is the short form for the fluoroelastomer category according to the American standard ASTM and has a lot of advantages. It has an excellent temperature resistance, high chemical stability, excellent resistance in mineral oils and fats, low gas permeability, a very good resistance in non-polar media and a good weather, aging and oxygen stability. Besides it has a very wide temperature range (–40 °C to +225 °C).
